C'est sans trop de problèmes que nous nous sommes rendues à l'Île d'Orléans. On s'est toutefois rendu compte que si elle était directement en face des chutes, elle n'était pas si facile que ça à atteindre quand on a pas de directions !
It's without too much problems that we reached the Orléans Island. We still realized, though, that if the island was just in front of the falls, it wasn't that much easy to reach it when we don't have any directions !
J'ai bien aimé traverser le pont, qui était très étroit. C'était un de ses ponts qui monte jusqu'au milieu et qui redescend par la suite. J'aurais aimé être passagère afin de pouvoir me tourner et admirer la vue.

Les gens s'y rendaient en foule cette journée là. Il faisait beau soleil et c'est le temps des pommes. Résultat: ça n'allait pas très vite sur la route. Mais ce n'était pas grave: ça donnait tout le temps pour admirer le paysage. À tous les quelques mètres, il y avait des vergers où des gens, parfois déguisés en pomme, nous invitaient à en cueillir. Nous avons 
décidé pas mal au hasard où s'arrêter, mais nous nous sommes pas trompées: cet endroit avait également des vignobles, magnifiques à ce temps là de l'année. Avec la vue sur le fleuve et Beauport, c'était magnifique.

People went to the island in a crowd that day. It was sunny and it was the apple time. Result: it went very slow on the road. But that was correct, since it gave us time to watch the scenery. Each couple of meters, there were orchards where people, sometimes wearing apple costumes, invited us to pick up some apples. We decided quite hazardously where to stop, but we chose the right place: there were also beautiful vineyards, which were beautiful at that time of the year. With the view on the St Lawrence River and Beauport, it was wonderful.
J'ai donc cueilli dix livres de pommes. Malheureusement, ça n'a pas été bien long, et nous avons continué notre route. À un moment donné, nous mourrions toutes les deux de faim, et nous avons dû rebrousser chemin. J'aurais bien aimé faire le tour, mais tant pis !
I picked up ten pounds of apples. Unfortunately, it wasn't very long to do, and we got back on the road. At one moment, we were both starving and had to get back to the entrance of the island to eat something. I would have liked to make the road all around the island, but anyway !

We went to the only real restaurant of the island, which was completely full. We had to wait too long, so we decided to cross back the bridge.
