Sentier national / National Trail

Aujourd'hui étant ma dernière occasion de partir faire une longue marche en forêt avant sans doute longtemps, j'ai décidé d'aller à une place où je n'étais encore jamais allée. Le sentier national des Appalaches, la partie entre les chutes neigette et le Mont-Comi.

Today being my last chance to go on a walk in the forrest before a while, I decided to go to a place where I had never been before. The National Trail, the part between the Neigette Falls and the Mont Comi.

Bien sûr, cette partie du sentier faisant un total de 12,6 km dans les montagnes, je n'avais pas assez d'un après-midi pour le faire. Hélène qui travaille avec moi connaît bien le coin car elle y fait du deltaplane et du parapente. Je savais qu'après un ou deux kilomètres, nous allions arriver à la clairière où ils effectuent leur départ. Je me suis donc dit que moi et Kathy pourrions nous rendre jusque là.

Of course, this part of the trail being 12,6 km in the mountains, I didn't have enough of an afternoon to do it. Hélène who's working with me know the place very well since she does hang-glidder and paragliding there. I knew that after a kilometer or two we would arrive to the place where the departures are happenning. I told myself that Kathy and I could go there.

Premièrement, nous devions passer sur la passerelle au-dessus des chutes neigette qui est disons-le, épeurante...

First, we had to pass on the bridge that's going over the Neigette Falls. Let's say it, it is scary...

Puis, nous avons dû faire notre chemin dans ce ramassis de roches, d'arbres, de racines et de végétation. Le sentier était à peine tracé et était assez sportif. La montée fût dure pour le cardio, et la descente, pour les jambes, car c'était dur de ne pas glisser. Mais j'ai adoré, c'est tout à fait le genre de sentier que j'aime faire !

Then, we've had to walk through all these rocks, trees, roots and plants. The trail was not always easy to see and it was quite sportive. Climb has been hard on the cardio and go down has been hard on the legs, because it was hard not to slide. But I loved it, it was totally the kind of trail that I like !

Sur notre chemin, nous avons croisé des champignons de toutes sortes, des écureuils et de gros rochers mousseux sur lesquels poussaient plantes et arbres.
On our way, we've seen mushrooms of all kinds, squirrels and big rocks with foam on which were growing plants and trees.

Finalement, au bout d'une heure de marche, nous y sommes arrivées... Pas de deltaplanes, pas de parapentes, mais une vue magnifique sans nuages sur l'arrière pays de Rimouski-Neigette et deux paramoteurs. J'y serais bien restée camper cette nuit...

Finally after a one hour walk, we arrived... No hang-glidder, no paraglider, but a wonderful panorama without clouds on the country of Rimouski-Neigette hinterland and two paramotors. I would have done camping there tonight...

Il y avait ce drôle de banc construit à même deux arbres et construit en rondin et en tapis... Bizarre !

There was this funny bench built between two trees with other trunks and carpet... Strange !

Au retour, nous sommes passées par une chemin qui nous permettait de voir d'en bas où nous étions allées... C'est le point de la montagne où il n'y a pas d'arbres. C'était quand même pas pirement haut, non ? Je comprends pourquoi j'avais le vertige en m'approchant de la falaise !

When we were going back to town, we passed by a road that allowed us to see from the bottom where we had been... This is the place on the mountain where there are no trees. It was quite high, no ? I understand why when I went to far from the cliff, I felt afraid of the heights !
