Avant de partir sur l'île Grande Basque, nous sommes allés à l'épicerie pour s'acheter un lunch. Puis, nous étions prêts à partir. Nous avons enfilé nos ceintures de sauvetage, sommes embarqués dans le zodiac et nous sommes partis pour un tour de zodiac de sept minutes !
Before our departure for the Grande Basque island, we went to the grocery to buy something for lunch on the island. Then, we were ready to leave. We put our lifebelts and then got into the rubber dinghy for a seven minutes tour !
J'adore faire du zodiac ! Le vent frais qui nous frappe le visage, et le bateau qui se soulève à chaque vague... Ce jour là, en plus, il faisait très venteux, et nous allions contre les vagues ! Quel bonheur ! Je regrettais que la croisière en zodiac qui fait le tour le l'Archipel des Sept-Îles soit si cher, car, plutôt que sept minutes, ça aurait duré trois heures !
I love dinghy rides ! The cool wind reaching your face, the boat going up and down at the rythm of each wave... That day was very windy, and we were going against the waves, which made it even more fun ! I was regretting that the dinghy cruise tour around the Sept-Îles archipelago was so expensive, because instead of being 7 minutes, it would have been 3 hours !
À bord du zodiac, il y avait avec nous deux gars qui s'en allaient camper là pour la nuit. Je les enviais. Surtout quand j'ai vu la beauté de l'île.

En débarquant sur l'île, la première chose que nous avons faite est de nous trouver une plage où manger avant d'entreprendre notre randonnée vers le sommet de l'île. C'est là que nous avons découvert les sites de camping, qui étaient à même le sable, sur le bord d'une belle petite plage. Comme c'est romantique !
On the island, the first thing we did was to find a beach where we could eat our lunch before to go for a walk on the highest part of the island. That's when we discovered the camping sites, that were directly on the sand, on a beautiful little beach. How romantic !
La plage elle-même était remplie de petits trésors qu'aurait adoré un enfant !

Plus tard, nous avons entrepris notre marche vers the sommet de l'île. Au début, c'était très facile, puis, de plus en plus, c'est devenu difficile. Ce n'était pas une très longue marche, et heureusement, car à la fin, nous ne marchions plus que dans des rochers. C'était très escarpé et chaque pas demandait un effort physique. Ni un enfant, ni une personne âgée n'aurait pu tenir le coup. Les marches étaient très hautes, tellement que parfois je devais me servir de mes bras pour grimper. En descendant, c'était encore pire, car là, nous ne pouvions plus nous servir de nos bras, et si on perdait l'équilibre, et bien... on tombait. De haut.

Mais la vue valait largement l'effort. Deux côtés montraient un paysage marin: des îles, la mer, des voiliers. Un côté nous montrait une énorme usine (c'est pas mal moins agréable) et le dernìer nous montrait la ville de Sept-Îles.
But the view was worth the effort. Two sides showed a marine landscape: islands, sea, sail boats. Another side showed a huge factory (less beautiful, I know) and the last showed a view on Sept-Îles.
Comme le haut de l'île était fait de rochers plats, la vue était dégagée. C'était merveilleux. On se sentait réellement comme le roi, la reine de la montagne ! lol
The top of the island was made of flat rocks, so there was nothing to hide the scenery. That was wonderful. We really felt like king, queen of the hill ! lol
