Spectacle aérien, partie 3 / Air show, part 3

Même si la pluie était terminée, les gens s'en allaient en masse après le spectacle des Thunder Birds. Le ciel restait menacant, mais je le trouvais beau. J'en ai d'ailleurs fait une photo que voici.

Even though the rain had stopped falling, people were continuing leaving after the Thunder Birds show. The sky was still very dark, but I thought it was beautiful. So I photographed it.

Après un intermède d'environ une demie-heure environ, ce fût au tour du spectacle pyrotechnique. Un camion produisait de grosses explosions tandis que des avions faisaient des accrobaties dans la fumée noire.

After a break of about 30 minutes, it's been the pyrotechnic show turn. A truck was producing big explosions while planes were doing aerobatic figures in the dark smoke.

C'était impressionnant, mais plus pour les énormes explosions et la fumée noire et épaisse que pour les accrobaties des avions. L'animateur a dit que le camion a brûlé plus de 600 litres de diésel pour la durée du spectacle, qui a duré, quoi ? 20 minutes ? Assez impressionnant ! Mais au coût du gaz ces derniers temps et à la pollution qu'il produit, on se demande quelle est la pertinence d'un tel spectacle ?

It was impressive, more because of the big explosions and the thick dark smoke then the aerobatic figures done by the planes. The animator said that the truck has burned more then 600 l of diesel for the show that lasted, what ? 20 minutes ? Quite impressive ! But with the price of the gas nowadays and the pollution that it brings, you wonder what is the pertinence of such a show ?

Après ce spectacle, je dois avouer que j'étais déçue. J'avais manqué les Red Arrows, qui semblaient avoir été les meilleurs, et les Thunder Birds m'avaient beaucoup déçue. Et puis oui, les Snow Birds étaient les prochains à passer, mais je devais encore attendre une demie-heure debout dans l'herbe trempée sans rien faire d'autre que regarder les gens partir.

After that show, I have to admit that I was dissapointed. I had missed the Red Arrows, who had seem the be the best, and the Thunder Birds had been a deception to me. And yes, the Snow Birds were next, but I had to wait half an hour again standing in the middle of wet grass doing nothing else but watch the people leave.

Ça ne s'est pas beaucoup amélioré quand les Snow Birds ont commencé leur show car d'où nous étions, nous ne les voyions presque pas tant il y avait des nuages. Mais comme énormément de gens étaient partis, nous avons pu nous approcher et nous avons finalement pu voir les incroyables Snow Birds. À mon avis, ils sont une grosse coche au-dessus de tout le monde.

It didn't get better when the Snow Birds have started their show, because from where we were, we could not see them because of the clouds. But since many people had left the show, we could get much closer to the front and we could finally watch the amazing Snow Birds. My opinion is that they are much better then every body.

J'étais déchaînée sur mon appareil photo, essayant sans succès de faire de bonnes photos et vidéos. Quand je voulais faire une photo, j'étais sur le mode vidéo, et quand je voulais une vidéo, j'étais en mode photo. De plus, mes vidéos sont presque toutes ratées, car quand les Snow Birds faisaient quelque chose de particulièrement intéressant alors que je les filmais, j'avais le réflexe de peser sur le bouton pour faire une photo, ce qui arrête la vidéo. Ça m'a enragée plus d'une fois ! Autre chose, je zoomais quand je voulais avoir une vue de loin et je me mettais en vue de loin quand je voulais zoomer. Et puis, quand tout allait bien, bien il y avait des camions et des automobiles qui passaient devant ma caméra !

I could not stop using my camera, trying without success to take a good picture or a nice video. When I wanted to do a picture, I was on the video mode, and when I wanted a video I was on the picture mode. What's more, I missed almost all my videos, because when the Snow Birds were going to do something particularly interesting and that I was filming them, I had the reflex to press the button to take a picture. And that stops the video. It pissed me off many times ! Another thing is that I zoomed when I needed an over view and I made an over view when I wanted a zoom. And when everything was fine, a truck or a car passed in front of my camera !

Après le show des Snow Birds, j'étais toute émue. J'ai énormément d'admiration pour les pilotes de ces avions. J'ai entendu qu'une personne normale ne pourrait pas bouger de cinq centimètres dans les avions qu'ils conduisent. Alors qu'eux manoeuvrent un avion pendant 45 minutes. Vous imaginez l'entraînement physique que cela représente ? Et toutes ces heures de pratique qui doivent être nécessaires pour apprendre à faire des accrobaties dans ces avions, à être parfaitement syncronisés avec les autres, à se tenir à la même distance et à la même hauteur que les autres ! C'est tout simplement incroyable. Incroyable, je vous dit. Et c'est d'autant plus émouvant que pour arriver à un tel niveau, les pilotes doivent s'investir à fond et faire des heures et des heures d'entraînement et de pratique. C'est un accomplissement qui ne se fait pas sans efforts, ce n'est pas seulement un talent naturel.

After the Snow Birds show, I was full of emotions. I have a lot of admiration for the pilots of these planes. I heard that a normal person can not move five centimeters in these planes. They pilot it and make aerobics figures for 45 minutes. Do you imagine all the physical training it represents ? And all these trainings hours that have to be necessary to learn doing aerobatic figures in these planes, to be perfectly syncronized with the others, to be at the exact same distance and height then the others ! It's just unbelievable. Unbelievable, I say. It's even more touching when you think that to reach such a level, the pilots have to invest themselves entirely and do hours and hours of training. It's an accomplishment that doesn't happen without efforts, it's not only a natural talent.
