Camping à St-Nicolas, partie 2 / Camping in St-Nicolas, part 2

Nous avons passé le déjeuner ce matin là et fait des plans pour le reste du voyage. Nous voulions faire du patin à roulettes dans le vieux Lévis, visiter les chutes Montmorency, marcher dans le Vieux Québec, aller aux Galeries de la Capitale (un centre commercial de Québec) et voir un film IMAX. Mais tout d'abord, nous voulions essayer le spa et s'acheter des trucs à manger pour le voyage. Ce qui fût fait.

We skipped breakfast that morning and planned the rest of the trip. We wanted to roller skate along the old part of Lévis (the town in front of Quebec), visit the Montmorency falls, walk in the Old Quebec, go at the Galeries de la Capitale (a shopping center) and see an IMAX movie. But first of all we wanted to try the spa and buy some stuff to eat during the trip.
C'était une belle matinée. La journée s'annonçait chaude et belle. Nous l'avons donc commencé entre la piscine et le spa du camping:

It was a great morning. The day seemed to want to be warm and sunny. So we started it up between the camping's pool and the spa:

Puis, nous sommes allés à l'épicerie de St-Nicolas, et nous nous sommes faits des sandwiches et des cannes de soupes. Comme nous étions partis en voyage à la dernière minute, nous n'étions pas préparés et on a tout oublié. On s'est donc acheté un ouvre-boîte cheap pour faire des ouvertures dans des boîtes de conserves et on les mettait dans le feu pour les faire chauffer. On se débrouille comme on peut! Mais en soirée, comme on avait d'autres cannes à préparer, Éric a cassé notre ouvre-boîte. On s'est donc arrangés avec les moyens du bord pour ouvrir les boîtes de conserves...Aventure #3.

After that, we went to St-Nicolas grocery and we made sandwiches with canned soups. Since we were gone on that trip without any preparation, we forgot everything. So we bought a cheap can opener and we put the canned meal into the fire to heat them up. We do what we can with what we have ! During the evening, as we had other cans to open for dinner, Eric broke the can opener. So we did all we could to open them. Adventure #3.

Après dîner, on a demandé des indications pour se rendre aux chutes du Montmorency. La fille de l'accueil nous a donné les indications qu'elles croyaient être les plus simples. Seulement, elle nous a fait passer dans le Vieux Québec, et il y avait des travaux de constructions un peu partout, de sorte qu'on a dû faire de nombreux détours. Et qui connaît le Vieux Québec sait que c'est bourré de sens uniques... Résultat: on a tourné en rond et on s'est perdus. Aventure #4. Éric et Karine avaient chacun leur carte, et chacun des indications différentes pour trouver notre chemin, et moi je me fiais à mon sens de l'orientation. Tout le monde chialait, encore plus le pauvre Steven qui savait plus où aller ! Au moins, ça m'a donné la chance de passer à côté de la fontaine de Tourny, un récent cadeau qui a été fait à la Ville de Québec pour les fêtes du 400e l'an prochain. Cette fontaine a eu une vie antérieure, si je peux dire. Elle a trôné au centre de Bordeaux au XVIIe siècle. Je l'ai prise en photo de la voiture, donc désolée si le résultat n'est pas fameux:

After lunch time, we asked directions to go to the Montmorency falls at the camping's reception. The girl there gave us what she thought were the simpliest directions to go there. The thing is that she made us pass through the old part of Quebec City. What she didn't know was that there would be machine works on the roads there. So we had to find other ways to go to the falls. And who knows the old part of Quebec City also knows that it's full of one ways. The result is that we turned around like crazy and we got lost. Adventure #4. Karine and Eric both had their maps and each had their theories of how to get there. And I had also my own theories, so the poor Steven no more knew where to go and got crazy hearing us shout different directions. At least, it gave me the chance to see the Tourny fountain, a recent gift to Quebec City for the 400th anniversary of the town next year. This fountain has had a past life, if I can say. It has been in the centre of Bordeaux in France during the 17th century. I took a picture of it from the car while it moved, so I am sorry if the results are not the best.
