Pas de photos / No pictures

Je n'ai pas de photos de ma ballade d'hier dans les sentiers du littoral car j'avais oublié ma caméra. Quel dommage ! La marée était basse (heureusement, sinon je me serais vraiment noyée avec Croûton...) et il y avait plein d'iris et de roses sauvages...

I don't have any pictures from my walk in the Littoral Trails yesterday because I had forgotten my camera. That's sad ! The river was at it's lower point (luckily, otherwise I'd really have gotten drowned with Croûton...), and it was full of wild iris and roses...

• À Port-Cartier, sur la Côte-Nord, il y a une rue qui s'appelle Arseneault . Non seulement, je suis étonnée qu'il y ait une rue à mon nom, mais en plus, elle est écrite à ma manière, qui est assez rare ! J'y suis peut-être passée l'été dernier sans m'en apercevoir !
• In Port-Cartier on the Côte-Nord, there's a street called Arseneault. I'm already surprised that there's a street at my name, and what is even more surprising is that it is spelled the way I write it, which is quite rare ! Perhaps I passed on it last summer without even noticing it !
• Dans mon livre Secrets d'outre-tombe, de Kathy Reichs, il y avait un chat au nom de mon ancien chien, Guimauve. Moi qui me croyait originale ! Je vous mets au défi de trouver un autre animal qui porte le nom de Croûton !
• In my book Grave Secrets from Kathy Reichs, there was a cat with the name of my old dog, Guimauve (Marshmallow). I thought I was original ! I'm sure there's no other pet named Croûton (heel of bread), though !

Fontaine de Tourny

Je me rappelle avoir parlé sur ce blog de la fontaine de Tourny à Québec et de combien elle était belle dans le noir. Je cherchais sans succès une photo ou une vidéo. J'en ai maintenant une, mais malheureusement, elle ne la montre pas au complet. En tout cas, ça vaut mieux que rien !
I remember I have spoken on this blog about the Tourny fountain in Quebec City and of how it was beautiful at night. I was looking unsuccesfully a picture or a video of it at night. Now, I have one, but unfortunately it doesn't shows it all. Well, at least this is better then nothing !

Changement de modèle

J'ai décidé de changer le modèle de mon blog. C'est beau, n'est-ce-pas ? Seul petit problème, les couleurs d'écriture foncées que j'utilisais régulièrement ressortent très mal. Donc, certains messages sont illisibles pour l'instant. Je vais remédier au problème bientôt, mais comme j'ai déjà écrit plus de 300 messages, ça risque d'être un peu long avant que j'aie tout réglé. Désolée !

I decided to change the layout of my blog. It is beautiful, isn't it ? The only little problem is that the dark characters I regularly used on the previous model don't show up very well. I'll settle this soon, but since I already wrote more then 300 posts on this blog, it may be a little bit long to correct the problem. Sorry about that !

Excuses

Je sais que j'ai parlé terriblement en mal des canadiens anglais, mais je tiens à demander pardon. Mes deux derniers jours m'ont permis de réviser mon jugement que j'avais fait trop rapidement.

I know I spoke terribly badly of English Canadians, but now I regret it and I want to beg your pardon. My last two days of work allowed me to change the judgement I had made too quickly.

Peut-être que j'ai simplement pas eu de chance dans ma première journée, mais ces deux derniers jours, j'ai pu constater que plusieurs anglais étaient très compréhensifs.

Maybe I've simply been unlucky on my first day, but these last two days, I realized many English people were very kind and comprehensive.

C'est peut-être aussi parce qu'au début, je ne savais pas suffisament les écouter. J'étais si occupée à voir comment mon clavier fonctionnait qu'il ne me restait plus aucune concentration pour écouter ce qu'ils me demandaient. Je devais donc leur demander d'eppeller ce qu'ils me disaient, ce qui les rendaient d'autant plus impatients.

Maybe it is also because in the beginning, I wasn't able to listen to them attentively. I was too busy understanding how my keyboard worked and I had no concentration left to listen to what they were asking me. I had to ask them to spell many times because of that and that was the source of their frustration.

Et, après réflexion, je peux comprendre leur frustration. Étant abonnés à une compagnie d'abord et avant tout anglophone, ils peuvent s'attendre à être répondus par des anglophones. Or, quand les centres d'appels anglophones débordent, c'est nous francophones qui répondont. J'imagine que ça peut devenir irritant.

After thinking about it more throughly, I can understand their frustration. They are with a company that is mainly english, so they have the right to think they are going to be answered by a native english speaker. But when the english centres are too busy, it directly comes to us. I imagine it can become irritating with time.

Je veux aussi m'excuser parce que j'ai dit que pas un anglais ne faisait l'effort de parler français. C'est pas vrai. Ceux qui le parlent un peu essaient de m'aider. Je m'excuse profondément.

I also want to give you my excuses because I said no english speaker was trying to speak french. That's not true. Those who know a little french try to help me. I'm so sorry I misjudged you all, guys !

Quelle belle journée, n'est-ce-pas? Ça sent le printemps, la neige fond, les oiseaux chantent, il y a une gros soleil dehors et il fait très doux ! Bref, rien pour m'inciter à rester en dedans pour étudier ! En plus, avec le changement d'heure, nous allons avoir le soleil avec nous jusqu'à l'heure du souper ! Quel bonheur...

What a nice day, don't you think? It smells like spring, the snow is melting, the birds are singing, there's a big sun outside and it's cool ! Nothing to help me studying inside ! And with the changing of hour, we are now going to have the sun with us until dinner ! A pleasure...
