Brutus et le chalet / Brutus and the cabin

La fin de semaine dernière, j'ai de nouveau eu l'occasion de garder Brutus, ce gros nounours. Pour lui faire faire un peu d'exercice, je suis allée au chalet avec lui et Croûton afin qu'ils puissent courir librement.

Last weekend, I had once again the opportunity to petsit Brutus, this little bear. To let him exercice a bit, I brang Crouton and he to our cabin so they can run freely.

Ellie

La fin de semaine dernière, j'ai gardé un bébé labrador de cinq mois, Ellie. C'est que ça a de l'énergie un labrador ! Je l'ai promenée et elle tirait comme un beau diable, s'étouffant à force... Je suis allée dans les sentiers de la rivière avec elle, lui permettant de nager dans la rivière. Elle était folle de ça. J'ai aussi couru un bout avec elle, espérant qu'elle viendrait à bout de force, mais c'est moi qui ai dû abdiquer ! Par exemple, quand elle s'est finalement arrêtée, elle était vraiment morte de fatigue. Il n'y a qu'à voir sa posture...

Last weekend, I pet sat a five months old baby Labrador, Ellie. I can tell you that it's a dog full of energy ! I walked with her and she pulled so much on her leash that she kept coughing... I went in the River Trails with her, letting her to swim in the river. She loved it. I also ran with her, hoping that she would finally get tired. But from evidence, I was the one who had to abandon ! When she finally stopped, though, she was real tired. You just have to have a look on the picture I took when she was sleeping !

Brutus & Croûton

De dimanche à mardi passé, j'ai de nouveau gardé Brutus. Vous vous rappellez ce gros toutou de Brutus ? Bien gros, mais pas méchant pour une cenne. Eh bien, j'appréhendais quand même sa rencontre avec Croûton, qui n'est pas habitué à rencontrer d'autres chiens et qui est plutôt tannant avec eux. Eh ben, finalement, tout s'est super bien passé !

From last Sunday to Tuesday, I petsat Brutus again. Do you remember that dog ? The biggest but the sweetest dog. Well, I feared his meeting with Croûton, who is not used to meet other dogs and who is annoying with them. Well, it finally went as good as it was possible to !

Tout d'abord, Croûton s'est tenu à distance, curieux et un peu effrayé.

First of all, Croûton observed Brutus distantly, a little afraid and curious a lot.

Puis, il a osé le regarder de face. Brutus, lui, l'ignorait.

And then, he finally dared looking at him. Brutus ignored him.

Croûton s'est donc approché d'un peu plus près pour attirer son attention, mais Brutus l'ignorait toujours.

Croûton went a little closer to catch Brutus attention, but he still ignored him.

Finalement, Brutus s'est couché et ils ont enfin pu se regarder les yeux dans les yeux.

Finally, Brutus lied down, and they could finally stare into each other's eyes.

Puis ils ont joué ensemble. N'est-ce-pas merveilleux ?

Then they started to play together. Isn't it wonderful ?

Finalement, ils s'entendaient si bien que j'ai pu les promener ensemble... Sauf qu'ils s'entendaient plutôt bien pour me contrarier. Brutus s'arrêtait pour sentir un poteau, repartait en tirant, tandis que Croûton restait en arrière pour voir ce que Brutus avait senti. Vous voyez le tableau ? Et malgré les apparences, Croûton tire presque aussi fort que Brutus, quand il se décide. Ah ! Et puis, ils ont tous deux peur du tonnerre. À un moment donné, il y en a eu un coup, et ils ont tous deux fait demi-tour pour retourner à la maison à la course. Imaginez la plouc en arrière qui essaie de courir aussi vite que deux chiens sans lâcher la laisse ! Un peu plus et je faisais une chute magistrale !

After all, they got along together so well that I could take a walk with both of them... But they mostly got along to annoy me. Brutus stopped to smell something for a moment, and then went ahead pulling me strong. At the same moment, Croûton stopped to see what Brutus smelled. See ? Against all expectations, Croûton pulls almost as much as Brutus, when he decides so. Oh ! And they are both afraid of thunder. Once there was a thunder sound, and they both went the other way to get back home, running like crazy. Imagine me at the back, trying to run as fast as two dogs to not let the leashes ! A little more and I was falling !

Finalement, ils sont rentrés tout crottés, particulièrement Croûton ! Ah ah !

Finally, they got home completely dirt, especially Croûton ! Ah ah !

Il a grossi un peu, non ? Mais il est toujours aussi mignon !

He got bigger a bit, hey? But he's still so cute !

Elle vient de l'avoir hier. Il est tout cute, il rentre dans ma main tellement il est petit.
She just got him yesterday. He is so cute, he is as tall as my hand.

Comme promis, j'ai fait une vidéo de sa petite danse, mais j'ai des petits problèmes avec mon ordinateur et je risque d'avoir de la misère à le mettre sur mon blog. Je vais quand même essayer.

As promised, I did a video of him dancing, but I have little problems with my laptop and I may have problems putting it on my blog. I'll still try.

Pendant ce temps-là, Kit-Cat boude et se met hors de portée de Ti-Loup, c'est-à-dire sur le comptoir.

At the same moment, Kit-Cat sulks and put herself out of the reach of Ti-Loup, meaning on the counter.

Ti-Loup

Voici la photo de Ti-Loup, le beau petit poméranien que je garde pour quatre jours. Malheureusement, j'ai qu'une photo, car je n'ai toujours pas de nouvelles piles dans mon appareil ! Ti-Loup est adorable (et repose sur mes genoux en ce moment). Il est super enjoué et essaie toujours de nous mordiller les pieds. Le reste du temps, il danse sur ses pattes arrières, en avant, de côté et à reculons. C'est vraiment trop mignon, il faudra que je le filme et que je vous le montre (quand je vais avoir des piles).

Here's Ti-Loup, the cute little pomeranian I'm petsitting for four days. Unfortunately, I have just one picture, because my camera is still low bat. Ti-Loup is adorable (and is standing on my knees right now). He is always playing, trying to bite my toes or dancing on his back paws going forward, backward and on both sides. That is really cute. I must absolutely make a video of it and post it (when I finally get new batteries).

En fin de semaine, je garde Whillow, une adorable cocker extrêmement énergique !

This weekend, I petsit Whillow, an adorable cocker spaniel that is bursting with energy !

Brutus

Ma foi, je devrais songer à devenir gardienne d'animaux... Ça fait trois que je garde en un court laps de temps. En fin de semaine, je garde ce magnifique gros toutou, Brutus.

I'm starting to think I should be a pet sitter (is that a word???)... I've been taking care of three in a short laps of time. This weekend, I'm taking care of this nice big doggie called Brutus.

J'ai aussi gardé ce chat pendant quelques jours. Il s'appelle Vagabond.

I also took care of this cat for a few days. His name is Vagabond.
