Ma première journée de travail

Ma première journée de travail est enfin terminée. Je me suis jamais imaginée qu'être femme de chambre pouvait être aussi dur physiquement. Aujourd'hui, mon dos est tellement courbaturé que c'est comme si j'avais une barre dedans qui m'empêchait de bouger. Bref, c'est avec de multiples contorsions que j'arrive à ramasser les choses que j'échappe (pour ceux qui ne le savent pas, je suis une experte en gaffes...)

My first day at work is finally over. I never imagined that being a housekeeper could be so hard physically. Today, my back aching so much that it feels like I have a bar in my back that's stopping me when I try to pick something on the floor. So, it is after several contortions that I finally succeed at picking the things I let fall on the floor (for those who doesn't know, I'm the best blunderer in the world...)

Rassurez-moi, ceux qui ont déjà travaillé comme femme de chambre... On a pas tout le temps mal au dos et aux genoux de même ? On s'endurcit, j'espère ?

Reassure me, people who have already worked as a housekeeper... Our back and knees don't always hurt that way, do they ? We get used to it, I wish?

Peu importe. À peine revenue, devinez quoi ? J'apprends que TELUS m'a appellée ! J'espère que la job commence vraiment le 12 octobre... Car si je l'obtiens et que je travaille toujours au motel, je vais avoir des conflits d'horaire...

Anyway. I had just got home, when guess what? I learned TELUS have called me ! I hope that this job really starts on October 12th... Because if I have it and that I still work to the motel, I while have schedule problems...

La madame au motel a vraiment besoin de quelqu'un pour la dépanner pour vraiment pas longtemps. Je ne voudrais donc pas lâcher. Imaginez essayer de trouver un employé pour une semaine ou deux ? Qui en voudrait, de cette job? Mais en même temps, TELUS paie beaucoup mieux, et ce serait un emploi à long terme.

The woman at the motel really needs someone to help her until the motel's closure during the winter. I don't want to leave before it closes. Imagine trying to find an employee for a week or two ? Tell me, who would want such a job? At the same time, TELUS pays much better and that would be a long term job.

En tout cas, ne mettons pas la charrue devant les boeufs, je vais commencer par voir ce que la madame avait à me dire au téléphone !
