Voici quelques-unes des autres photos que j'ai prises sur la route entre Percé et le Parc Forillon.

Here are some of the other pictures that I have taken on the road between Percé and Forillon Park.

Le Grand Canyon québécois / Quebec's Grand Canyon

Près de Percé, juste après le village quand vous faites le sud avant le nord et juste avant le village quand vous passez par le nord (évidemment) se trouve ce qui est pour moi le plus beau bout de route de toute la Gaspésie. Je me plais à lui donner le nom de Grand Canyon québécois. C'est très beau et impressionnant.

Near Percé, just after the village when you do the south shore before the north shore, and just before the village when you pass by the north (of course) is my favorite place in Gaspésie. I like to name it Quebec's Grand Canyon. It's beautiful and very impressive.

Comme nous sommes passées par là à 7h du matin, il y avait très peu de monde sur la route. Nous avons donc pu nous arrêter au bord pour prendre des photos. Nous nous sommes également arrêtées à un belvédère où l'on peut monter pour observer les magnifiques falaises de Percé.

As we passed there when it was 7 in the morning, there were few people on the road. We could stop along the road to take pictures. We also stopped at a panorama where we could climb to watch Percé's wonderful cliffs.

Sea was calm.......Et on était les seules à admirer ces beaux paysages !

...And we were alone to watch those beautiful landscapes !

L'autre côté de l'île / The other side of the island

De l'autre côté de l'île Bonaventure, il y a d'autres choses à voir: de vieilles maisons inhabitées abandonnées depuis les années 1920. À l'époque, une centaine de personnes vivait sur l'île à longueur d'année. Ils vivaient des animaux qu'ils élevaient ainsi que des légumes qu'ils plantaient. L'été, ils prennaient des canots pour rejoindre la côte, et l'hiver, ils traversaient tout simplement sur la banquise.

On the other side of Bonaventure island, there are other things to see: old unhabited houses abandonned since the 1920's. Back then, about a hundred people lived on the island all year long. They lived from the animals they bred and from the vegetables that they gardened. During the summer, they had to take canoe to join the shore, and during winter they simply passed on the ice floe.

La croisière: l'île Bonaventure / The cruise: Bonaventure Island

Après avoir fait le tour du rocher Percé, le bateau s'en allait à l'île Bonaventure où se trouve la fameuse colonie de fous de Bassan la plus grande au monde.

After the cruise went around the Perce Rock, the boat went to Bonaventure island where is the famous gannets biggest colony in the world.

C'est très impressionnant, lorsqu'on passe, de voir tous des oiseaux qui crient et qui vous volent au dessus de la tête, mais... ça pue aussi. La crotte d'oiseau. Ha ha. Ça vaut quand même la peine, et à chaque fois (ça fait trois fois que je fais cette croisière), c'est la partie que je préfère.

It is very impressive, when we pass, to see all these birds shouting and flying over you, but... it also stinks. The bird's shit. Ha ha. But it is worth it anyways. Everytime (it's been the third time that I did that cruise), it's the part that I prefer).

En plus, on a souvent le cas de voir des phoques, ce qui a été le cas cette fois-ci.

What's more, we often have the occasion to see seals. It's been the case that time.

Si vous n'êtes jamais allés à Percé, quand vous irez, vous ne devez absolument pas manquer cette croisière. C'est LA chose à faire à Percé, si vous voulez mon avis. De plus, vous allez apprendre une foule de choses intéressantes sur ces oiseaux que sont les fous de bassans ainsi que sur la composition géologique du rocher Percé.

If you never went to Percé, when you'll go, don't forget to do that cruise. It's THE thing to do when you're in Percé, if you want my opinion. You'll learn a lot on the genetts and also on the geologic constitution of the Percé Rock.

La croisière: Rocher Percé / The cruise: Percé Rock

Une fois trouvé notre motel pour la nuit, nous sommes tout de suite parties faire une excursion au Rocher Percé et à l'île Bonaventure. Comme en 2006, quand j'y suis allée avec Karine et Steven, nous sommes tombées sur une croisière sans possibilité de débarquer à l'île Bonaventure. Il aurait fallu attendre le lendemain et nous étions plutôt pressées puisque nous souhaitons faire le Parc Forillon le jour suivant.

Once we found our motel for the night, we decided to go on the cruise to Percé Rock and Bonaventure Island without waiting anymore. As in 2006, when I went with Karine and Steven, we fell on a cruise that didn't stop to Bonaventure Island. We would have had to wait the next day to do such an excursion, and we were quite in a hurry because we wanted to spend the next day in Forillon Park.
Nous avons donc saisi l'occasion de faire la croisière autour de l'île de 15h. La première partie se déroulait autour du Rocher Percé. Le capitaine parlait de son érosion et des oiseaux qui nichaient au-dessus. Voici les photos:

So we took this occasion to do the cruise around the island at 3 pm. The first part was around Percé Rock. The captain spoke of the erosion and the birds at the top of the rock. Here are the pictures:

Ste-Thérèse de Gaspé

Ste-Thérèse de Gaspé est tout près de Percé. Il y a là-bas une très belle et longue plage. De là-bas on commence à voir l'île Bonaventure.

Ste-Thérèse de Gaspé is close to Perce. There's a beautiful and long beach. It's from this place we begin to see the Bonaventure Island.

Falaise et plage / Cliff and beach

Je ne me rappelle malheureusement plus du nom de l'endroit, mais si je me rappelle bien, ce n'était pas très loin de Chandler. Il y a un belvédère qui donne une magnifique vue sur la plage en bas d'un falaise.

I unfortunately do not remember the name of the place, but if I'm not mistaken it wasn't far from Chandler. There's a belvedere with a wonderful view on a beach at the bottom of a cliff.

Hopetown

À Hopetown, on se serait crû à l'Île-du-Prince-Édouard tant la terre et le sable étaient rouge. Ma mère et moi, on s'est arrêtés à un sentier à l'embouchure d'un rivière pour marcher un peu et pour prendre quelques photos.

In Hopetown, I could have thought I was in Prince-Edward Island because the ground and the sand were so red. My mother and I stopped at the mouth of a river where there was a trail to walk a little bit and take a few pictures.

Les bornes fontaines de New-Carlisle / New Carlisle drinking fountains

En arrivant dans New-Carlisle, la première chose que l'on remarque, ce sont les bornes-fontaines. Eh oui ! Pourquoi ? Parce qu'elles sont peinturées en personnages populaires ! On a réussi à s'arrêter sur le bord du chemin pour en prendre quelques-unes en photo (pas nécessairement les plus belles, toutefois). Pour les voir au complet, veuillez cliquer sur ce lien :

When you arrive in New-Carlisle, the first thing you see are the drinking fountains. Yes ! Because they are painted into famous characters ! We stopped beside the roads when we could to take picture of some of them (not necessarly the most beautiful, though). To see them all, you can click on that link :
